Local resident, Gerald Edwards, has been selected as the Scottish Conservative & Unionist candidate for the Clarkston, Netherlee and Williamwood ward.
Gerald was born in Clarkston and has lived in the area all his life. Educated locally and then at Glasgow University,
Gerald has been serving the community for forty years as a dedicated NHS Dental Surgeon. Now that he is retired he wishes to continue to serve.
Gerald said “I am very grateful to have been selected as the Scottish Conservative and Unionist Party candidate for the Clarkston, Netherlee and Williamwood Ward.
“Whilst this area is very vibrant there is ample scope to make it even better. There are many problems ahead such as recovery from the covid pandemic and the proposals for extreme changes to the way we heat our homes.
“I have a long record of speaking up for the concerns of the ordinary citizen with my frequently published letters in all of the Scottish mainstream newspapers.
“A lifetime in public service across all sectors of society is a good grounding to a common-sense approach to decision making.”
