Ward - Giffnock and Thornliebank
Councillor Gordon Wallace has lived in Eastwood and Giffnock all his life and following an established career in the food industry stood as a council candidate in 2007 where he has now served the Giffnock & Thornliebank Ward for 15 years.
As Honorary President and Past Chairman of the East Renfrewshire Conservative & Unionist Association, Gordon oversaw some of the most successful years for local Conservative returning, an MSP, MP and seven local councillors to the constituency.
As Group Leader, Gordon is a past Chair of the council’s Audit & Scrutiny Committee, Gordon is also Shadow Convenor for Education and is committed to ensuring improvement across all aspects of the council’s provision on services and continues to be a strong voice for residents.
His more recent successes include bringing the motion to Council that ensured the entire open space collectively known as Huntly Park is protected from development in perpetuity.
